Visiting Scholar opportunity @ New Brunswick College of Craft and Design

NBCCD is pleased to announce a new initiative, designed to give its students the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with a creative role model. 💡
Launching in January 2023, the Visiting Scholar program will provide a creative, dynamic environment for a visiting artist to build and accelerate their practice, while also sharing their knowledge with emerging artists.
Applications for the four-month, paid opportunity are now open. ✍

The Hand Building Basics online course starts next week and runs Oct 4-Nov 29.

It’s the perfect course for beginners and throwers looking to expand their hand building techniques.

It’s not too late to join.

PS participants should have access to a kiln to get the most out of this course.

call for entry: British Ceramics Biennial

An announcement for UK Artists: Applications for BCB’s AWARD 2023 exhibition are now open.

AWARD is the British Ceramics Biennial’s headline exhibition, formed from an open submission that celebrates the vitality of contemporary ceramics practice in the UK.

BCB invite applications from UK-based individual practitioners, collaborators or collectives who use clay as their primary creative material.

10 artists will be selected to exhibit in the 2023 BCB festival. Each artist receives £1,000 towards the presentation of their work. 1 artist is awarded a £10,000 cash prize and an invite to exhibit in ‘Awarded’ at the BCB 2025 festival.

Deadline: Midnight, 12 October 2022

residency opportunity: Merritt Ceramics Artist in Residence Program

Upcoming Deadline: Merritt Ceramics Artist in Residence Program is designed to provide an artist with an opportunity to access the studio unlimited for one year with a Tulip Membership, where they can develop their own work, as well as exchange ideas and learn with fellow ceramic artists. Merritt Ceramics is committed to providing access for communities that have historically been marginalized by the clay world. For this reason, we are prioritizing Black and Indigenous artists.

The resident recipient will have 24/7 access to the studio from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023.
