DEADLINE: ONGOING The BICWA society is a residence for artists to live, work and use all facilities, independently. This is of interest for self directed artists. BICWA Society resides in the country, it’s surrounded by huge fields of brilliant golden yellow canola in the summer and by acres and acres of muskeg and willow bushes. Because the society is situated in the country side and it’s close to the wilderness, a lot of wildlife is crossing the fields.

  • Individual rooms in shared house, there are 6 large bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, large livingroom with fireplace and a very large dining / kitchen area and laundry room. Studio.
  • 24ft anagama (traditional Japanese woodkiln). Salt-kiln, wood-fire-kiln, electric-kilns, gas-kilns, raku-kilns. 2 studios with all technical equipment needed. (wheels, slabroller, extruder, pugmill etc.)

TOKYO WONDER SITE CREATOR-IN-RESIDENCE

In 2006, TWS Aoyama Creator-in-Residence was launched at the former Institute for Advanced Studies of the United Nations University in Aoyama. In this central Tokyo district where many creative people gather, the new facility functions as a base for internationally oriented creative work for young artists from fields ranging from art and design to music and others, in concert with the stimulating environment of the Aoyama neighborhood. Along with the nearby TWS Shibuya, TWS Aoyama will become a center for art, and at once an international platform for true dialogue and exchange in the heart of Tokyo, offering artists space to reside, research, produce and exhibit works.

International Residency Opportunity – EKWC

European Ceramic Workcentre Netherlands
The European Ceramic Workcentre in the Netherlands offers opportunities for artists, designers and architects to explore the technical and artistic possibilities of ceramics. Applications are being accepted for their 2010 residency program.

As an artist-in-residence centre, the .ekwc annually welcomes about 44 artists, designers an architects to experiment with ceramics for a continuous or phased period of three months.
The .ekwc does not only offer studios, workplaces, the most advanced equipment and living space, but also the support of a team of specialists. This team gives a unique added value to the residency as 75% of the participants have no or little experience with ceramics. Intensive guidance allows the participants to realize their prearranged work plans.
The residency is concluded with a final presentation.
