Ferrin Gallery is sending out a call for submissions for the upcoming survey of contemporary teapots and artwork featuring the iconic form.

Geoff Crispin is a ceramicist who has spent a number of years working on development programs with indigenous artist groups within Australia and around the world. Geoff is a Visiting Artist in the Ceramics Workshop.

RBSA Open Ceramics Call for Submission

Deadline Friday May 15th

The RBSA is holding an Open Ceramics exhibition this August and inviting entries from designer makers and artists from all over the UK who work in clay. This will be a first for the RBSA and a special event for ceramics, certainly in the West Midlands. It will be an opportunity for makers of all styles and techniques to showcase their work, covering all aspects of the contemporary ceramic scene – studio ceramics, sculptural forms or experimental pieces – be they established or emerging makers. All work must be fired. Each maker will be asked to submit 3 photos of their style of work, and 1 photo demonstrating the size and scale of their work, for selection. Those selected will then be asked to submit up to 6 pieces for the exhibition.

Call for entry – Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize

Now in its ninth year, the prestigious acquisitive Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize is calling for artists to enter their work offering a chance to win a total of $13,000 AUD in prize money.
The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize is the only Australian national prize for free standing sculptures of smaller dimensions (up to 80cm) and annually attracts over 450 entries. The judges of the 2009 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize are Geoffrey Cassidy, Director of Artbank and Diane and Neil Balnaves of The Balnaves Foundation.

Entries for the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize close for pre-selection on Friday 14 August and finalists will be selected for the free public exhibition to take place at Council’s Redleaf building between 24 October and 1 November.
