| The successful applicant, chosen on the basis of work being of an innovative and original nature and showing technical and creative merit, will sign a contract with Pan Gallery to undertake a three week exhibition within the first six months of 2011. |

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: STRUCK GALLERY, MEDICINE HAT
Seeking contemporary, innovative fine art and craft… Formerly Sandfly Gallery & Gifts, STRUCK GALLERY is a newly reworked venue which exhibits emerging and established visual artists from across western Canada. STRUCK GALLERY exhibits painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, fabric art, pottery, glassware and more. The gallery consists of a main exhibition space for featured artists and four boutique rooms displaying smaller bodies of work year round. Call for entries – Exhibition: Hands in Clay

The San Joaquin Potters Guild of Stockton, CA invites all CALIFORNIA ceramic artists to enter the “Hands in Clay 2010” show. Cash awards for best of show, first, second and third place.HAND DELIVERED ENTRIES ONLY. Entries will be accepted on Saturday, July 31 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and on Sunday, August 1 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.) at the Central California Art Association, Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J. Street, Modesto, CA 95354. Internationally known ceramic artist Tony Natsoulas will jury the show. A maximum of three (3) entries per artist will be accepted in functional, non-functional and sculptural categories. The show runs for one month -August 3 – September 4. The artists’ reception will be on Saturday, September 4 from 6-9 p.m. at the Mistlin Gallery. Medalta Day 8 – a minor hiccup
I woke up this morning bright and early, happy that my boys (son & husband) we’re going to be arriving for a visit, but alas as soon as I reached the studio and started up my computer I realized that the day was threatening to turn sour. A few cracks in 2 pieces I have to deal with slowly but consistently over the next few days, but it shouldn’t be too bad.
But worse than that my computer died. Won’t even start up. Can’t seem to find the start up disk. Sigh. It’s a 8 year old Mac which has survived a previous hard drive fail (2 weeks before my thesis was due) and recently (a few months back) was drown in a coke. It’s led a good life, so maybe it was just it’s time. Cruddy thing is I only have an equally temperamental and threatening to die hand me down laptop from my mom to replace this one and the monitor on that one only works a fraction of the time. But I’m not winging. I’m just letting you know in case my blogging becomes a bit more sporadic until I can get an adequate replacement. I guess this is a good excuse to have to go back to the wonders of Hycroft China again to retake all the photos I’ve lost
