The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is calling for submissions to the 2018 Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics. This prestigious national award allows practising early career ceramic artists to undertake a period of independent research, or other activities that advance their artistic and professional practice. The winner of the Award will receive $10,000
The selection is made by a jury comprised of respected contemporary ceramic artists and other arts professionals. The winner will be celebrated and the award presented at a ceremony in Waterloo, Ontario on Saturday, December 1, 2018. call for entry: Open to Art Award in Ceramics

The Open to Art award dedicated to the promotion of contemporary ceramics is at its third edition. Launched in 2014 to promote the use of ceramics in contemporary art and design, the competition – open to artists of all nationalities, single or associated, without age limits or thematic constraints – is now open.

The third edition confirms the first two Cash Prizes, worth € 5,000 each for the Art section and the Design section.

In addition to these, numerous collateral prizes:

Artist residence at Sundaymorning@ekwc,The Netherlands
Artist residence during the International Ceramic Art Festival in Sasama, Japan
Artist residence at Amfora in Seinäjoki, Finland
Artist residency at Guldagergaard – International Ceramic Research Center, Denmark
Artist residency at Carlo Zauli Museum, Italy
Artist residency and exhibition at Ceramic Museum of Mondovì
Cover Award, Fragile magazine
Focus Award, Fragile magazine

Works of all finalist artists will be exhibited at Officine Saffi gallery.

The jury will evaluate the participants according to the principles of originality, research, technical quality and will be composed of leading figures from the world of art and design. The jurors of the 2018 edition are:
