MADE FRESH @ NSCAD

The NSCAD Ceramics department invites you to join us for MADE FRESH our annual spring show and sale.
Here
at the ceramics department of NSCAD University, our students put
together a wonderful show and sale of their most current work at the end
of every semester. It shows examples of an eclectic variety of student
work, from small and large scale sculptures to giant urns, wearable art
and tableware galore.  There is surely something for everyone!
The
Port Campus studio space is transformed overnight from the busy studios
of hard working students to a gleaming, modern and spacious  three part
showing area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the harbor,
which during the day give the displayed works the most perfect natural
lighting.
Follow this event on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/466585500076712/) for up to date photos and interviews! For department information visit “NSCAD Ceramics” on Facebook or go to nscad.ca for other exciting news and events.

Monoliths & Megaliths: Brad Mildrexler

“Monoliths & Megaliths”, opening
Friday, April 5th at 6pm.

Brad Mildrexler has often been called an artist’s artist, relatively
unknown by the general public, but celebrated in the fine art community
for his experiments with high-fire glazes as a sort of ceramic
alchemist.  Mildrexler’s sculptural work is immediately recognizable for
its mass and surface texture. His investigations into the creative
process of manipulating extreme heat, earth, rock and sand,
strategically document his contributions to important developments in
contemporary ceramics.

The grand opening of “Brad Mildrexler: Monoliths and Megaliths” at the
Eutectic Gallery will begin at 6pm on April 5, 2013 as a part of the
First Friday inner eastside Gallery Crawl and will feature refreshments,
small bites and an opportunity to meet the artist. Open Thursday
through Sunday, and by appointment, “Brad Mildrexler: Monoliths and
Megaliths” will be displayed through the month of May.
