Call for Entries: Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Eligiblity: Artworks that use clay/ceramics as the main material or subject matter are eligible to be submitted.

Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 (GICB2017) INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION calls for artists from October 4 to 31, 2016 via online (ic.gicb.kr). The Grand Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of KRW50,000,000(approx.43,000.00USD) and will be invited to solo exhibition during the GICB2019 as well as the grand opening ceremony for the GICB2017.

Korea Ceramic Foundation will be hosting the 9 th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale
Korea from April 22 (Sat) to May 28 (Sun), 2017 in Icheon, Yeoju and Gwangju.

GICB2017 is now commencing with the announcement of entry requirements for the International Competition, one of the main parts of the GICB. This competition calls for the artworks that mirror the modern trends and point to the future of the ceramic arts. It welcomes such artworks that redefine the essence of ceramics by exploring the spirit, values, forms and techniques of the traditional ceramic art.

Cristina
Cordova is a sculptor based in North Carolina. Originally from Puerto
Rico, Cordova was studying engineering when she decided to quit her
program and follow her dreams of being an artist. In her picturesque
studio she creates arresting clay figures that are both personal and
universal. Her work is exhibited as part of the permanent collections of
the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Museum
of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico, and the Fuller Craft Museum, among
others.

LAB TECHNICIAN – FINE ARTS, FACULTY OF ARTS – Competition Number 16-87R
Kwantlen Polytechnic
University seeks a highly motivated, organized individual with proven
experience with technical Fine Arts support in a post-secondary
education environment to join our Fine Arts Department as a Lab
Technician for the Faculty of Arts.  This
fulltime regular position is scheduled for five workdays per week
starting September 2016. The salary is starting at $45,150.20 annually.
Qualified candidates
will have completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent combination
of education and experience from a publicly accredited
post-secondary institution with experience and knowledge of the
techniques and safety aspects involved with: print making &
ceramics. Prior experience assisting in a Fine Arts department at a
post-secondary institution is required. Preference will be given
to applicants with active involvement in the local art community and
experience in promoting and developing strong workplace communications
and processes.
