The Fogelberg Studio Fellowship Program is designed to provide emerging
ceramic artists an opportunity to be in residence for one year at the
Northern Clay Center, where they can develop their own work, as well as
exchange ideas and knowledge with other ceramic artists.
Two studio fellowships will be awarded in 2013, valued at $3,000 each.
Fellowship recipients will share a large, private, fully furnished
studio space (measuring 16’ x 11’) from September 1, 2013 through August
31, 2014. In addition to the work space, each fellowship includes a
modest materials and a firing stipend, as well as participation (at no
charge for most) in NCC workshops and lectures. Recipients’ work will
also be included in a group exhibition featuring several artists, which
will take place in January of 2015. Artists are required to create 100
to 150 vessels for Soup It Up, an annual fundraiser that
supports a variety of educational and youth programs throughout the Twin
Cities, including this particular program.
NEW TO 2013: recipients will also receive professional
development in the form of teacher training; the awardees will end their
fellowship year by co-teaching a school residency.

The following materials must be submitted. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
The application deadline will be 5:00 pm on April 19, 2013. Completed application forms and materials must be received at Northern Clay Center in hard copy by this date and time. THIS IS NOT A POSTMARK DEADLINE. No faxed, e-mailed, or late applications will be accepted.

My name is Cherie Peyton and I live in Sydney, Australia. I originally
attended evening pottery classes in the early 90s when my sons were
small – I enjoyed it so much I never stopped. I now teach wheel
throwing and porcelain jewellery evening classes myself for our Local
Community College and love passing on my knowledge and skills to
newcomers. The kinds of pots I enjoy making are large carved bowls, I
am intrigued by tree roots and branches which have a big influence in my
pots. Flowers are another favourite of mine and I also love making
porcelain roses and the porcelain jewellery.
