call for entry: The Earring show

craftcouncilofbc.wordpress.com/menu/featured/

The Craft Council of British Columbia presents The Earring Show, an exciting juried exhibition and sales opportunity for contemporary, designer-makers producing wearable art in a whole host of mediums. The exhibit showcases examples of earrings in every shape, size, material and concept, made by artists across North America. Furthermore, The Earring Show also provides a space where the public can engage with art jewellery for the first time, or to add to their collection!

The Earring Show is held as a one-night fundraiser at the CCBC Shop & Gallery in Vancouver, where our guests can purchase any of the specially-selected earrings. All funds raised from the event go towards CCBC, its programs, and to help promote contemporary crafts in BC and Canada. With a growing number and variety of pairs of earrings, The Earring Show is approaching its 6th iteration in 2019!

2019 edition

The association is changing direction. Ceramic 14 Paris becomes C14-PARIS. The salon is now led by two ceramic artists (Laurence Crespin and Patrick Loughran) and two curators (Frédéric Bodet and Stéphanie Le Follic-Hadida).

The Salon C14-PARIS is moving more radically towards contemporary art and intends to be a forum for quality in the art market. It aspires to connect ceramic artists, art galleries and collectors. It will offer exceptional visibility to thirty artists, two art schools and one collector.

C14-PARIS is aimed at French, European and international artists who create sculptural, non-functional works (from volume to mix-media.)
• Works must be recent or never exhibited
• Proposed works must be predominantly ceramic, but can be a composite.
• Mostly ceramic installations may contain non-ceramic elements (drawings, photographs, paintings, etc.).

The 2019 edition will be held from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 October in the heritage annex of the town hall in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, rue Pierre Castagnou.

Two prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the show:
– 1st Prize: The Jury Prize will allow the laureate to present their work as part of a personal exhibition in a municipal gallery (public communications + newsletter) + Ceradel patronage (500 €) and Baillet (clay).
– 2nd Prize: the “residence” prize, designed to encourage an approach, will allow the laureate to stay 2 to 3 months in an associated ceramics-equipped residence in France or in Europe.

Applications must be completed online at c14-paris.com (or can be returned by mail to the association’s head office) before February 28, 2019.
All entries are subject to the acceptance of the general regulations.
The candidate will be notified of the jury’s decision no later than March 31, 2019.
