STARworks Clay Studio Program Director
STARworks
Center in Star NC is currently seeking a Clay Program Director. She/he
is responsible for the overall creative and artistic direction and
management of STARworks’ new (and still developing) Ceramic Artist
Residency Programs.
Requirements:
• Masters degree in ceramics or a combination of education and experience
• Professional experience in artist residencies, public art programs, or public practice programs
• Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently and within a team
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Some travel required
• Available weekends and evenings
Other related duties as assigned.
Compensation:
This is a full time, exempt salaried position with generous paid time
off, holidays and 403(b) contribution plan. STARworks is an equal

STARworks Clay Studio Artist in Residence Program
We
are currently accepting applications for residency positions of one to
six months duration. The duration depends on the proposal submitted by
the artist and the available studio space. Available dates start in
September 2015 and run through May 2016.
The STARworks
Residency is for ceramic artists who are at a crucial stage in their
career and require an opportunity to experiment, refine and formalize
studio practices are encouraged to apply. Residents are encouraged to
use their time to push personal, professional, technical and conceptual
limits.
Residents will be provided with
subsidized housing, studio space and up to 500 pounds of STARworks
Ceramics clay bodies each month in exchange for assistance with studio
maintenance and helping with events, workshops and occasional teaching
responsibilities.
Our facilities allow for
large workshop spaces placed side by side, supporting a collaborative
and energetic educational environment. The space allows for six or seven
generous studios at one time for residents and visiting artists,
serving to inspire a creative studio atmosphere and perpetuate an
elevated commitment to ceramic craft and art.
