Qualified applicants must have an MFA, MA or PhD and an established or rapidly developing exhibition record. Post-secondary teaching and/or relevant professional experience is required.
It is expected that the candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses to include a wide range of ceramic methodologies, skills and concepts. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a commitment to pedagogical and program development.
Knowledge of contemporary and historical discourses in ceramics and the visual arts is essential. Interest in one or more of these areas: ceramic materials, rapid prototyping and/or mold-making, theory and critical writing would be an advantage.
Service to the University and leadership in research and curricular initiatives is expected.
As NSCAD establishes a research agenda in innovation and technology, the University is seeking a candidate who will utilize the new Ceramics facility to develop unique collaborations and experimental directions for the medium of clay.
