Pottery Northwest is currently seeking a Communications Manager. The position will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date is early-June.

Job Title: Communications Manager

Hours: Part-time/16-24hrs per week

Reports to: Executive Director
Rate: $16-$20/hr

Communications Manager will be required to work in shared office, with flexibility to work remotely. Some weekends and evenings will be required. A PC computer may be available for use, but provision of own device is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with staff to develop and coordinate ongoing local and national publicity efforts
  • Write and distribute press releases and media advisories for all programs
  • Cultivate media relationships and work with Executive Director to pitch feature stories, reviews, and other media coverage to mass media and target markets
  • Archive media coverage
  • Document exhibitions and events
  • Assist with donor research, organization and storage of information
  • Coordinate the ongoing assessment and evolution of marketing and community outreach plan
  • Develop, produce and distribute marketing materials
  • Manage Pottery Northwest’s online presence, including website, social media, and other information portals
  • Ensure that online content is relevant and up to date
  • Assist Executive Director in writing and editing program descriptions and grant narratives.
  • Conceive and implement targeted marketing and program outreach
  • Monitor online engagement
  • Design materials for print, promotion and the web
  • Manage organization newsletter and listserv via Constant Contact
  • Assist in creating web forms for receiving applications for various programs

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a professional marketing and public relations environment
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability interact positively and professionally with staff and constituents and to perform job duties while in stressful situations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to complete tasks on deadline thoroughly and efficiently
  • Solid professional computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress and Constant Contact

The University of Oregon’s Department of Art is
accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Ceramics.
This position is at the rank of Assistant Professor and the salary will

Qualifications:
We are seeking a colleague with a dynamic approach to creative practice
and pedagogy that will contribute to an established and progressive art
department. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience in
teaching a range of traditional, experimental, and extended forms within
the field of Ceramics. The successful candidate will possess a broad
knowledge of scholarship, including critical histories and theories
related to Ceramics and the field of craft within the larger context of
contemporary art. The competitive applicant should have a research and
creative practice that is grounded in Ceramics, with fluency in
interdisciplinary and experimental approaches. The candidate will
exhibit an ambitious professional record that indicates a commitment to a
sustained and evolving creative practice. The candidate must be able to
work cooperatively with diverse faculty and student populations. This
position requires experience in teaching beyond graduate school, a MFA
or equivalent degree, and an active professional practice.

Primary Responsibilities:
Primary teaching responsibilities will be focused in Ceramics with
opportunities for teaching across media areas, including graduate
seminars, advanced studios, and foundations. All of the Department of
Art faculty contribute to the interdisciplinary graduate program. The
University of Oregon operates on a system of three, 10-week quarters
with 1 additional week for final exams. Faculty in the Department of Art
have a teaching load of five courses per year. The candidate will work
collaboratively with another Ceramics faculty member to oversee the
Ceramics area, which includes curriculum and facilities development, and
the supervision of a 1.0 FTE lab technician, student employees
(undergraduate and graduate), and nontenure-track faculty. Service
responsibilities include various departmental and school committees, as
well as student advising and participation in shared governance. The
candidate will be expected to maintain an ambitious professional record
that indicates a commitment to a sustained and developing creative
practice.

has a dedicated studio technician who supports a broad-based,
technically comprehensive facility. The area resources extend through
the department and School of Architecture and Allied Arts to include
laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC routers, multiple wood shops, metal
shops, a plastics shop, a motion capture lab, physical computing shop,
printing services and computing labs. The University of Oregon supports

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Michigan — Cranbrook Academy of
Art, ranked nationally as one of the top ten programs in graduate art
education, seeks a new leader for the Ceramics department. The
successful Ceramics candidate should demonstrate a strong record as a
professional artist at the highest level in the field, have teaching
experience at the graduate level and strong interpersonal and
communication skills to lead the department of 15 students.

Cranbrook Artists-in- Residence are the singular leaders of their
departments. They are given the autonomy to determine the department’s
pedagogy and the responsibility for its success. At Cranbrook,
Artists-in- Residence are not typical faculty members. They are
full-time artists and designers who live on campus, and whose personal
studios are located within their departments. During the academic year,
September-May, the Artist-in- Residence mentors 15 graduate students in a
collegial environment including nine additional departments: 2D
Design,Architecture, 3D Design, Fiber, Metalsmithing, Painting,

Artist-in- Residence selects their students, guides the development of

The Ceramics Artist-in- Residence should respect the history of
ceramics while embracing the visual and conceptual elements of the field

Job Posting: Education and Communications Coordinator – Red Lodge Clay Center

The Education and Communications Coordinator will work with the
Executive Director, Curator of Exhibitions, and the Program and
Facilities Coordinator to fulfill the mission statement set forth by the
Red Lodge Clay Center.

The Education and Communications Coordinator will act as a liaison
for the Long-Term Residents, Short-Term Residents, Visiting Artists, the
Advanced Student Project Network, and AIA Groups helping to orient the
artists to the studio, housing and the Red Lodge area. This job also
includes recruiting and management for the community classes and
outreach programs. Other responsibilities include developing community
relationships and dialogue in an effort to broaden the Centers audience
and its educational mission.

The Education and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for:
