Genesee Pottery (at the Genesee Center for the Arts & Education in Rochester, NY)

A
year-long residency program in a community ceramics studio in
Rochester, NY. Residents are given materials at cost, and free firing,
as well as studio space and 24/7 access. The Residents agree to a
combined 15 hours of studio/gallery/teaching per week. The
residency begins September, 2015 and runs through August, 2016.
Applicants are juried by a staff panel and emphasis is put on the
portfolio’s quality of work and the candidates expressed desire to be a
part of a community studio. There is no bias or preference for
functional work over sculptural or vice-versa.

- CD with 15-20 images of recent (within a year) work (300dpi jpgs)
- Written descriptions of images, including size, materials and titles
- CV/Resume
- Artist statement
- 2 letters of recommendation

GRAPHIC CLAY
juried by Jason Bige Burnett, will highlight new developments and
techniques in surface design of ceramic art and will showcase new
talent as well as highlight known experts in the field. This vibrant
and illustrative exhibition will include methods such as sgraffito,
mishima, china paint, ceramic decals and print processes on clay.
