NCECA will continue to have call for demonstrators for the 2013
conference in Houston, TX. A committee, selected from and by the NCECA
Board will act as the jury in selecting the conference demonstrators.
FORMAT
There are typically four demonstrators at each conference with two
potters and two sculptors. As a conference demonstrator your commitment
to NCECA is as follows:
• A three-hour session on both Thursday and Friday
• Arrival on Wednesday, March 30, for image verification and a demonstrator video interview
• A PowerPoint that will be shown simultaneously with your demonstration
• A written contribution to the NCECA Journal as outlined in the following guidelines: Click here to view the Publication Guidelines.

AN EVENING WITH
TRUDY GOLLEY: RECENT TRAVELS IN CHINA
In 2005 Trudy Golley was invited to Shanghai, China to create a two-meter tall bronze statue for placement in a public park there. That experience started an ongoing relationship with porcelain, The Pottery Workshop‘s Experimental Factory in Jingdezhen, and China in general. Now looking forward to her sixth artist residency and coleading a two-week ceramics study tour to China in the spring of 2013, Trudy will present an evening of images and stories about the innovative ceramics research that she has been pursuing there.

THE RED DEER POTTERY CLUB PRESENTS
FROM START TO FINISH: FORM AND SURFACE
The Red Deer Pottery Club invites you to attend a
one-day workshop with ceramic artist, Trudy Golley
on Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Refreshments from 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided.
In this demonstration workshop Trudy will focus on methods for making and using paper clay, as well as strategies that encourage a personalized approach to press-molding and handbuilding. Trudy will also cover decorating and glazing techniques that start at the raw and leatherhard stages and progress right through to the bisque and glaze firing. The aim is to unlock the potential of glazes and glazing methods to achieve rich surfaces that enhance and support the ceramic object’s form.

Join us in Prince George for our third Northern BC Clayfest, August 9, 10 & 11, 2012! This exciting event offers you the opportunity to learn about advanced clay techniques from some of the world’s renowned potters. You can network with your fellow artists and meet our exciting workshop presenters. We are hosting four acclaimed clay artists to present two days of techniques. Presenters will also provide a 45 minute slide show or video along with their demonstrations for the benefit of the participants.
2012 Clayfest includes an evening social event, co-hosted by Two Rivers Gallery. At the Wine and Cheese Reception you will get to meet our presenters and view work from members of the Prince George Potters’ Guild. Two Rivers Gallery will be hosting a juried show of members’ work for the month of August based on the theme “Profiles”. Both functional and non-functional pottery will be featured. To help with the costs of this event, we will have a “Mug Wall” where you can purchase mugs from your fellow potters. Please be sure to bring your own mug to contribute to this fundraiser.
During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to browse and purchase from the works of the visiting presenters and your fellow artisans. Other displays will include:

- Clayfest Mug Wall
- Silent Auction
- Souvenir items
- The Clayfest Marketplace will also have an small selection of beverages and snacks for purchase.
