Since its inception in 2006, Gaffa Gallery has provided a creative space for emerging and established artists and designers. As an integral part of its move to Sydney’s CBD, Gaffa will open the
doors to a dedicated Jewellery and Object retail store. At present we are looking for Jewellers, Ceramists, Glass Artists and Object makers to be represented in the retail store. We aim to showcase remarkable and exciting work, with a strong
emphasis placed on quality craftsmanship, innovation and interesting
design. If you are interested in having your wares showcased in our retail outlet, feel free to tell us a little more about yourself and your practice. Please provide the following:

- A ONE page CV
- Images of your work (max 5 images)
- Along with a word document of captions details (title, materials and retail prices).

Call for entries for The Clunes Ceramic Award is a national award, is now open to all artists. The Clunes Ceramics Award is an acquisition prize with the winning entry for 2010 becoming part of Art Gallery of Ballarat’s permanent collection. The works of the 50 finalists will be exhibited in the historic town of Clunes at a variety of venues.

The Guest Artist-in-Residence program is open to any artist whose primary medium is clay. Since 1992 the Clay Studio’s Guest Artist-in-Residence program has hosted artists from over thirty five countries including Anquilla, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, The Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Sweden, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Wales, and the United States. The Guest Artist-in-Residence Program provides:
- a 12 x 12 ft. studio on The Clay Studio’s third floor
- an apartment across the street
- a materials and firing stipend of up to $200
- and a $500 a month living stipend.
Residencies vary from 4 to 8 weeks, but both shorter and longer residencies have occurred to accommodate an artist’s schedule or to allow for a larger project. Some technical assistance is provided, but this program is designed for artists to work independently. Architecture in Clay
Show dates: July 24 – August 28, 2010 Throughout our history, ceramic elements have been used as an inspiration or vehicle to generate a critical structural element. Other architectural elements have also played an inspirational role for surface embellishment. Architecture in clay is about interpretation of an architectural element or form Criteria for Architecture in Clay:

About the Juror, Max Rain
Max Rain received his BFA in spatial art from San Jose State University, and is completing his MFA at UCLA. He has been working primarily with ceramics for over a decade, but has a long background in painting and illustration. His work is mainly representational, and takes the form of three-dimensional sculpture, or painted and incised imagery. He focuses on the fauna that have adapted to the urban environment, and the similarities between city-dwelling animals and the humans that share and shape their habitat.
