Call for Entries: Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Eligiblity: Artworks that use clay/ceramics as the main material or subject matter are eligible to be submitted.

Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 (GICB2017) INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION calls for artists from October 4 to 31, 2016 via online (ic.gicb.kr). The Grand Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of KRW50,000,000(approx.43,000.00USD) and will be invited to solo exhibition during the GICB2019 as well as the grand opening ceremony for the GICB2017.

Korea Ceramic Foundation will be hosting the 9 th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale
Korea from April 22 (Sat) to May 28 (Sun), 2017 in Icheon, Yeoju and Gwangju.

GICB2017 is now commencing with the announcement of entry requirements for the International Competition, one of the main parts of the GICB. This competition calls for the artworks that mirror the modern trends and point to the future of the ceramic arts. It welcomes such artworks that redefine the essence of ceramics by exploring the spirit, values, forms and techniques of the traditional ceramic art.

£15,000 Rosemary James Memorial Trust Award for Craft Makers re-opens for applications (UK)

This unique award is directed at makers steeped in practice using
materials singly or in combination. Such materials might include fired
clay or glass; fine or base metals; textiles using any kinds of
applications; wood; plastics; paper or other materials not included in
this list, where the emphasis is based upon the transformation of
materials through the use of sustained practice towards a series of
critical outcomes.


It aims to assist makers to investigate and develop a body of work which would otherwise be unaffordable.

The period of the award will culminate in an exhibition of work on public display in Northern Ireland.

call for entry: Good Things … Come in Small Packages – Juror: Doug Peltzman

November 11 – December 17

Juried by Doug Peltzman, Good Things is looking for exquisite ceramic
work, both sculptural and functional, that is no larger than 8″ x 8″ x
8″. Mixed Media work should be predominantly ceramics. Deadline to
enter September 2, 2016. Entry fee $30 for 3 entries, $5 for each
additional entry.
