The amazing artists Jasna Sokolovic and Noel O’Connell aka These Gray Days will be hosting some upcoming masters’ ceramic workshops that you won’t want to miss.
“We are pleased to announce that we are now beginning to hold masters’ workshops at our studio on Granville Island. Our intention is to offer intensive hands-on instruction, focusing on building skill sets with concrete objectives. They are designed to move students through a rapid progression of understanding in the medium. No previous experience is necessary for introductory courses, but students with experience are welcome. For more advanced courses, we ask that students take the introductory courses first or demonstrate their level of experience. The courses will be offered once per week and in four-week segments (although this may vary from one course to another).
Our first courses will begin Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012. Each class will be from 7pm to 10pm once per week on its given day. Space is limited (4 to 5 per class) and classes are filling up fast, so contact us right away to secure your spot.”

Call for entry: Clay EVV *Deadline extended to April 30th
Prospectus:
Clay EVV asks the clay artist to put big ideas into a small format. All work should be 75% clay, sculptural in nature, and no larger than 15” in any direction. Work may be pedestal, wall, or floor mounted.
Eligibiliy:
- CLAY EVV is open to all artists over the age of 18 working in the United States.
- Submissions must use 75% clay as the primary medium.
- Submissions should be created in the last 3 years.
- Clay sculpture should not be too fragile for shipping and/or installation, and should remain on display for the duration of the exhibit (June 8-July 6, 2012).

WOOD FIRING WORKSHOP WITH DALE HUFFMAN
The Cub Creek Foundation will be hosting a wood firing workshop led by Dale Huffman on May 18th-25th 2012. A workshop fee of $375 covers all meals for the week, glazes and firing fees. Participants should bring work to fire and will have the opportunity to load and participate in the firing of Cub Creek’s anagama, wood soda, and wood salt. Camping space available on our 100 acre property in beautiful rural Virginia.
Space is limited to 10 participants.
