Ceramics has been reborn in
recent years as a contemporary medium, captivating a new generation of
artists working in clay today. Discover the work of five up-and-coming
artists from across Canada, nominated by a panel of practitioners,
collectors and arts educators.
Who’s the breakout art star this year? We want you to be the judge! Vote for your favourite to win the $10,000 grand prize!
Online voting begins June 18, 2015 at 11:00 am and ends August 3, 2015 at 11:59 pm.

Held at  my studio in beautiful Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland,
this intimate workshop will explore surface techniques the can be used
on a wide variety of ceramic vessels .

  • introduction to the beautiful, translucent porcelain.

  • surface texture
  • imagery

Each participant will create a porcelain bowl with your own design.
What we are aiming for is a reflection of your own unique personality
with all it’s complexity, in your final design! Suitable for all levels
of experience.

A teabowl will serve as the
initial inspiration, this small vessel is the conduit to wider ideas
ranging from the importance of line, the true weight of volume, how to
solve technical design issues in all mediums from textiles to painting,
and what to do when you are at a creative dead end.


 Designed as creative boost for experienced artists in any
field, germinate your ideas with a day in Maleny and an intense burst of
inspiration.
