We’re celebrating the beauty of Spring (right in time for Mother’s Day) with a special showcase of our favourite Canadian ceramic artists.
Vessels For Flowers will feature the work of 12 artists working in clay, making and designing vessels to display nature’s beauty. This broad range of clay vessels will show the very best that this medium can offer. From highly decorated narratives, to quiet focus on form, the variety of work is incredible.
Invited artists include:
Annemarie Row, Bruce Cochrane, Carole Epp, Cathi Jefferson, Emma Smith, Filipa Pimentel, Jennifer Drysdale, Kate Hyde, Michelle Mendlowitz, Sarah Pike, Thomas Aitken, Tony Clennell
Local floral artist Jessica Payne of A Fine Medley will be making arrangements to accompany the flower vessels for the opening event – be sure to make it to the opening to experience this wonderful marriage of clay and florals.

Works will be available in our online shop starting May 6.
movie day: Sonja
Sonja is a poetic portrayal of the story of the sightless artist Sona Zeliskova, who despite adverse fate found her life journey in art and ceramics
The film experiments with audio-visual components to recount Sona’s unique story. Combining a documentary, narrative and poetic approach, this short film attempts to depict the real-life story via poetic language.
We used special infrared technology, in order to achieve a surrealistic black-and-white visual. The unique picture thus emerged purely in-camera without the use of post-production.
Sona carries a one-of-a-kind story of a lifetime struggle, overcoming obstacles while flourishing her love for art. At the age of 13, she was diagnosed with diabetes. At 26, right by the birth of her son, she completely lost her sight. At age of 39, nevertheless, she has found her life purpose and passion for ceramics and became a successful artist. Today, Sona runs ceramics courses, lectures at conferences and has become a life inspiration for many others.
