Canada Prizes for the Arts still on hold: Moore
“A $25-million promise to Canada’s arts community continues to be delayed, according to Heritage Minister James Moore. The Canada Prizes for the Arts and Creativity was part of the 2009 Conservative budget but not a single prize or a single penny has been handed out.”

Vitrify Alcorso Ceramic Award 2011
The Vitrify Alcorso Award is a newly established $10,000 annual prize for ceramics. Open to artists nationally, the award is non-acquisitive. Four artists were selected from the applications received to develop work for a group exhibition of ceramic art opening April 15 2011 at the Colville Gallery, Salamanca Place, Hobart Tasmania. The finalists for 2011 are:
- Kim-Anh Nguyen
- Ben Richardson
- Prue Venables
- Belinda Winkler
