Unit 1
1202 Lucerne Ave, Lake Worth, Florida 33460
UNIT
1 Exhibitions is proud to present “It’s Going To Be Okay”, the premiere
solo exhibition of rising talent Woody Othello. Othello, a Lake Worth
based artist and FAU graduate creates installations of paintings,
sculptures and every day objects that are both disturbing and banal.
“It’s Going To Be Okay” is a site specific installation that Othello
will create to reflect on psychic entropy, its effects on the psyche and
physical self. Using technology as a metaphor for psychic
interferences, the shows extends Woody Othello’s ongoing efforts that
examine negative external stimuli and their harm to the individual.

This trip is primarly intended for ceramic artists and for people who
are intereted in experiencing the unique nature of Iceland and would
like to meet Icelandic artists. Participants will have the opportunity
to collect material in the natural environment including volcanic lava
from recent and older eruptions from black lava beaches, etc.
We offer an 8 day trip and begin our travel in the south of Iceland and will stay in a hut in Þórsmörk for
two nights. We will hike to the area between the two Glaciers, where
the eruption occurred in 2010 and collect some material by the two
craters Magni and Móði.

Friends of The Clay Studio,
I
am pleased to announce that we have appointed Jennifer Zwilling as our
new Curator of Artistic Programs. We conducted a nationwide search over
the past two months and our search committee made a unanimous decision
to make this offer.
Jennifer
is a respected curator, scholar, and educator with a strong background
in the academic and museum fields. Jennifer’s deep understanding of the
ceramic arts and dedication to the next generation of craft artists make
her an excellent fit for us. Prior to her appointment, she worked with
The Philadelphia Museum of Art where she held numerous positions, most
recently Project Assistant Curator for American Decorative Arts and
Contemporary Craft. She has curated exhibitions for The Center for Art
in Wood, and Inliquid, and has taught Craft History at Tyler School of
Art and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Jennifer holds a
Bachelor’s degree from Ursinus College and a Master’s degree from Temple
University.
As
the Curator of Artistic Programs, Jennifer will oversee The Clay
