Beyond the Embargo
Cuban and American Ceramics
June 11, 2009– October 18, 2009
“Curated by Catherine Merrill, this exhibition highlights works in clay from a group of prominent Cuban and American artists who, in spite of the continued U.S. Embargo against Cuba, have continued to work and exhibit together in both Cuba and the United States. This collaborative cultural exchange brings together artists from different aesthetic, cultural and technical backgrounds.”

JamFactory is Australia’s leading contemporary craft and design centre providing emerging craftspeople and designer/makers with unique professional and creative development opportunities.
JamFactory’s two-year practical studio based program provides emerging craftspeople and designer-makers with professional and creative development opportunities unavailable anywhere else in Australia.
Participants in the scheme are referred to as “Associates” and work under guidance of experienced Creative Directors and Studio staff .
