1 Year Residency: June 15, 2016 (Residency starts October of 2016)
Taos
Clay offers three full-time resident artist positions to emerging clay
artists. For seven years Taos Clay’s residency has attracted artists
from around the country to gain experience in managing the day-to-day
operations of a community clay studio.
All residents are offered a
semi-private studio space, free firings, wholesale materials, paid
teaching opportunities and the opportunity to sell their work in the
gallery in exchange for 20-25 hours of work per week.
The
residency at Taos Clay Studio offers artists a supportive environment to
explore and develop in their personal work while gaining insight into
the business of making art.
Residents must demonstrate a
willingness to work with the local community, and a desire to grow in
their own work. They must bring a high level of professionalism and
competency to the studio that enriches the quality of our programs and
facility. Residents must also demonstrate a willingness to adapt to a
growing studio with ever changing needs and expectations.
Applications are accepted in the Spring of each year. Click below for information on our one and two year residency programs.
