call for entry: A National Juried and Invitational Cup Show

Presented by the Shaped Clay Society at Syracuse University and Gandee Gallery in Fabius, NY.

The Shaped Clay Society is the student run clay club at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. It provides professional development through local, national and international experiences in the field of ceramic arts. Shaped Clay is committed to giving its members the necessary tools and experiences to successfully take their art into the communities of the world.

The Gandee Gallery specializes in handmade objects and fine art, with a particular focus on sculptural and utilitarian ceramics. The gallery exhibits regionally and nationally established artists, as well as many emerging talents. The Gandee Gallery is owned and operated by Jen Gandee, an actively exhibiting ceramic artist and educator.

We are proud to announce this years juror is David MacDonald! 
David
MacDonald received his degree in Art Education from Hampton University.
After receiving his MFA from University of Michigan, he joined the
faculty of the School of Art and Design at Syracuse University, where he
taught for 37 years till his retirement in 2008. He is now a Professor
Emeritus. He continues to live and work in Syracuse, NY.
 
Eligibility

Open to all residents of the United States of America.

Entries

$25 for up to 5 entries.

Cups must be made primarily of clay. The idea of cup may be interpreted freely.

Work may not exceed 12 inches in any direction.

Work may not exceed 20 pounds.

All exhibited work must be for sale.

A 50% commission will be taken on all sales.

Selected pieces must be available for the duration of the exhibition.

Substitutions for accepted work will not be allowed.

Shipping and Insurance

The artist is responsible for the shipping and insurance of the work to the gallery. Gandee Gallery will be responsible for insurance during the exhibition and return shipping of unsold works.

Documentation

Gandee Gallery reserves the right to photograph all works displayed in the exhibition. These images may be used for documentation, sales, promotion and publicity.

Awards

CLAYSCAPES Pottery in Syracuse, NY along with the Shaped Clay Society will be sponsoring awards of up to $500.

August 30: Notification begins via e-mail

September 15: Work due to Gandee Gallery

October 1: Show opens at Gandee Gallery and Online.

November 20: Show Closes.

Call for Entries: Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Eligiblity: Artworks that use clay/ceramics as the main material or subject matter are eligible to be submitted.

Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2017 (GICB2017) INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION calls for artists from October 4 to 31, 2016 via online (ic.gicb.kr). The Grand Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of KRW50,000,000(approx.43,000.00USD) and will be invited to solo exhibition during the GICB2019 as well as the grand opening ceremony for the GICB2017.

Cristina
Cordova is a sculptor based in North Carolina. Originally from Puerto
Rico, Cordova was studying engineering when she decided to quit her
program and follow her dreams of being an artist. In her picturesque
studio she creates arresting clay figures that are both personal and
universal. Her work is exhibited as part of the permanent collections of
the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Museum
of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico, and the Fuller Craft Museum, among
others.
