Duties
Answering
to the Board, the Executive Director will oversee the smooth and
successful running of all of Craft Victoria’s activities and businesses.
You will provide excellent leadership in accordance with our values.

Together
with the Board, you will develop and implement strategic and business
plans designed to deliver on mission. This will include the
all-important creative programme that will be developed in conjunction
with the Creative Director, and will support Craft Victoria’s members,
while promoting craft to a broad audience at the same time.

Craft
Victoria is a NFP reliant on funding. The Executive Director will build
strong and effective relationships with key funding bodies – Australia
Council, Creative Victoria and the Melbourne City Council and manage
funding applications, reporting and acquittal processes.
 
To
enhance Craft Victoria’s overall sustainability, the Executive Director
must develop and implement a creative entrepreneurial business
programme, manage extensive fundraising activities, grow the membership
and manage and grow Craft Victoria’s commercial and retail enterprises.
You
will be responsible for all financial management, achievement of budget
targets and the preparation of regular reports for the Board.

The
Executive Director will manage all marketing and communications
activities, both on and off-line and be responsible for technical and
financial support systems.
You will represent and advocate Craft Victoria in the public arena including the media, public affairs and with government.

You
will operate an effective and efficient organisational structure and a
collegial and inspiring work environment that attracts and retains high
quality professional staff, contractors and volunteers.
You will
operate effective risk management systems to ensure the security and
safety of our staff, volunteers, visitors and assets, and compliance
with all relevant laws and regulations.

Working closely with the
Chair and the Board of Directors and its sub-committees, you will assist
with good governance and the provision of all necessary executive
support and advice; this will include the provision of Board Papers, the
preparation of the Annual Report and the audited financial accounts.

Position overview

The ANU School of Art teaches and researches in the visual arts and
design, and the position involves the delivery of undergraduate and
graduate studies in the Bachelor of Visual Art, Bachelor of Design, and
Masters of Visual Arts, Masters of Design and the School of Art Higher
Degree by Research program.  The candidate will show leadership in
curriculum development and teaching methods and have the ability to
initiate and resource research projects committed to practice led
research and innovative approaches to ceramics and other disciplines.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest
