CORE GALLERY OPEN SUBMISSION COMPETITION FOR DEPTFORD X

‘Grand and spectacular, ephemeral or concealed, art qualified and created by daily life.’ ~ The theme of our competition is based upon the Statement of intent for Deptford X 2010 by Mark Titchner. Artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply to be selected for an exhibition at Core Gallery which will run during the Deptford X 2010; an international contemporary Arts Festival in South East London, with an audience of over 2,000. Please send a cd with 3xjpegs at low res (120 dpi each), cv and statement plus entry fee of £10 cheque or postal order payable to Cor Blimey Arts Ltd. http://www.artscorpfogoisland.ca The Fogo Island Arts Corporation is a new contemporary art venue on the east coast of Canada. The Arts Corporation runs two distinct yet complementary programs, the Residency program and the Production program. Both programs encourage dialogue between visiting artists and local people to share experiences and perceptions. The Fogo Island Arts Corporation’s mission to bring together local communities and the international art scene is reflected in the accommodations and work space provided to Residency Program participants. Striking new studios are being built at locations across the island. They are designed by acclaimed architect Todd Saunders. The first of these studios – the Long Studio – opened on June 2 2010. TED HARRISON ARTIST RETREAT SOCIETY – Call for Residency Proposals 2010-2011

The Ted Harrison Artist Retreat Society (THARS) is now accepting
applications from visual artists for residencies for 2010 – 2011.

There are five residency periods available:

September 14 to October 31, 2010
November 3 to December 20, 2010
January 7 to February 21, 2011
February 24 to April 11, 2011
April 15 to May 30, 2011

DEADLINE: Postmarked no later than Monday July 12, 2010.

Notification of acceptance will be given August 16, 2010.

The Retreat is available for the summer months of June , July and August
for use by individuals or groups of artists on a rental basis for the purpose of
working on personal projects or conducting workshops , master classes or other
art related projects. Please contact THARS for further information related to
rental fees and availability.

Call for entry – 2010 ITAMI International Craft Exhibition

Applications are now open for the annual Itami international craft competition. The theme of 2010 ITAMI International Craft Exhibition is Shuki-Shuhaidai (a service for drinking sake). Applicants will craft sets of cup, bottle and stand that is most appropriate for drinking sake, not wine or whiskey!
