Held in odd-numbered years, the NCECA Biennial is the premier juried exhibition open to all current members of NCECA (both national and international) and to all ceramic artists, 18 years and older, residing in the U.S. Please note: artists from outside the U.S. (including Canada) must be NCECA members to enter. Entered works must have been completed within the last 2 years. The exhibition is juried from digital images by three prominent professionals in the field. Entry fee is $20 for members and $40 for non-members. Merit and purchase awards totaling approximately $7,000 are determined by the jurors. NCECA produces a color catalog featuring work by all participating artists.
The Tampa Museum of Art will host the 2011 NCECA Biennial from January 29, 2011 to April 24, 2011. This exhibition will be held in conjunction with the 45th annual NCECA Conference in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida, March 30 – April 2, 2011.

Art of Giving are launching the National Art Competition this year with the aim to encourage both established and aspiring artists to take part in an open art competition. The finalists will be given the fantastic opportunity to exhibit their work at one of the world’s most renowned Galleries, the Saatchi Gallery. Artists are invited to submit up to five works of art. Work will be selected by a top judging panel and the submission deadline for the 2010 competition is 31 August 2010. The Art of Giving exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery will be taking place on 7-9 October 2010 and the nominated final shortlist of ten from each category will exhibit their work at this exhibition – both winners of each category and the overall winner will be chosen at the event’s private preview on 7 October 2010, with the winners receiving a cash award, internet exposure and publicity. Art of Giving will be donating a minimum of 10% of the proceeds from the competition entry fees to the Red Cross Disaster Fund. NOTE: Finalists will be exhibiting their work at the Saatchi Gallery event on 7-9 October 2010, and must be available to attend the Art of Giving Exhibition Private Preview at the Saatchi Gallery on 7 October 2010.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: UN-WEDGED, CONTEMPORARY CERAMIC WORK

UN-WEDGED seeks contemporary ceramic work, both functional and sculptural, that is exceptional in concept and execution. The use of other media is acceptable as long as ceramics is the principle vehicle of expression. The show is open to all artists living in the United States, Canada and Mexico. All work submitted must have been completed within the last two years. Juror – Andy Nasisse, 2011 Jean Griffith Fellowship recipient, will be jurying the first annual UN-WEDGED ceramic competition and art show. To promote and support ceramic art on a national level Pan Gallery invites Australian ceramic artists living outside Victoria to apply for a gallery hosted exhibition.
The successful applicant, chosen on the basis of work being of an innovative and original nature and showing technical and creative merit, will sign a contract with Pan Gallery to undertake a three week exhibition within the first six months of 2011.

Call for entries – Exhibition: Hands in Clay

The San Joaquin Potters Guild of Stockton, CA invites all CALIFORNIA ceramic artists to enter the “Hands in Clay 2010” show. Cash awards for best of show, first, second and third place.HAND DELIVERED ENTRIES ONLY. Entries will be accepted on Saturday, July 31 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and on Sunday, August 1 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.) at the Central California Art Association, Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J. Street, Modesto, CA 95354. Internationally known ceramic artist Tony Natsoulas will jury the show. A maximum of three (3) entries per artist will be accepted in functional, non-functional and sculptural categories. The show runs for one month -August 3 – September 4. The artists’ reception will be on Saturday, September 4 from 6-9 p.m. at the Mistlin Gallery.
