residency opportunity: The Crows Nest (Australia)
Creative Spaces in collaboration with Sunshine Coast Council is excited to launch The Crows Nest Artist in Residence. Perched atop the Maroochy Sailing Club, the Crows Nest is a small space with views out across Maroochy River towards Mt Coolum. Situated on beautiful Chambers Island, accessed via a footbridge, this new creative studio could be yours, free for up to three months.
The space would suit writers, digital and fine artists and creatives with a lighter footprint. It can accommodate one person looking for inspiration and solitude or a collective of two looking to collaborate in paradise.

Juror: Holly Jerger
Holly Jerger is the exhibitions curator at Craft Contemporary (formerly Craft & Folk Art Museum) in Los Angeles, CA. Since 2015, she has organized or co-organized numerous exhibitions at Craft Contemporary, including Chapters: Book Arts in Southern California, Gronk’s Theater of Paint, Betye Saar: Keepin’ it Clean, and Melting Point: Movements in Contemporary Clay. Prior to her appointment as exhibitions curator, Jerger served as senior curator of public engagement (2005-2014), developing 90 programs annually. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ball State University, Indiana, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she also taught. She has served on the boards of the Museum Educators of Southern California (MESC) and the Los Angeles Printmaking Society.
Exhibition Designer: Kelly Bennet
Kelly Bennett is the Chief Preparator at UC Berkley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, and the Principal and owner of Art Pro Net. Kelly brings her over 15 years of experience to designing the layout of and overseeing installation of the Craft Nouveau Exhibition. She holds a Master of Arts in Arts Management from SUNY and previously served as the Exhibitions Manager for the Asian Art Museum.

Eligibility
● Open to artists everywhere: national and international
● All artwork must be original and completed within the last two years
● Artwork cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts
● All wall pieces must be ready to hang
● All artwork must be for sale
● Accepted artwork that differs significantly from the image in online submission will be disqualified
● No accepted entry may be withdrawn or sold outside of the exhibition prior to the closing date
● Blue Line Arts handles all sales transactions. Non-member artists receive a 50% commission from all gallery sales and members receive a 60% commission
● Size limitations: art must be able to enter through the doors with a clearance of 94”h x 91”w. Ceilings in the gallery are 10 feet high. No work over 60 lbs will be accepted.
● The artist is responsible to pay for all shipping and should have a prepaid label from FedEx or UPS (No US Mail) for the return of artwork. Please mark the outside of your box with your last name in bold letters.

Entry Fees: There is a non-refundable entry fee of $45 for the By Hand show. This initial fee covers 3 image uploads; there is a $5 fee for every additional image upload.

call for artists: Whitegold and Garden Projects
The Whitegold and Garden Projects aim to make creative, innovative and activated public spaces that use art and gardening to celebrate the culture of clay country, enhancing its sense of place.
Current Opportunities
The Whitegold Project wishes to commission three artists to create art in public spaces for St Austell that inspires, challenges and reflect on this unique place. Off the main tourist trail, St Austell in Cornwall is an industrial town moulded from the china clay beneath its feet and which is now looking to creatively reshape its future. The project has the people of St Austell at its heart and is a St Austell Community Interest Company not-for-profit project in partnership with local business, local authorities and cultural organisations. TREMEN (passage)– a small covered passageway called Grants Walk: Budget £20,000
At the start of Grant’s Walk, coming from the town centre, is a covered passageway that is an important connection into the town from one of the main car parks at Priory Rd. It joins the main street in town, Fore St, with Biddicks Court behind. A contemporary artist, maker or designer is needed to lead on its refurbishment and create art for this space that makes a positive contribution to the environment. Download the full brief:

OPE (alley) – Chandos Place, an alley in the heart of the town: Budget £30,000
Artists, makers and designers are wanted to apply for this commission for Chandos Place, one of St Austell Town Centre’s main pedestrian thoroughfares which connects Fore St with Old Vicarage Place. It is a challenging space but one with scale and presence, and an important connection from the main street to the central square in St Austell.

TREUDHOW (threshold)– a focal point on the western end of Fore St: Budget £15,000
We are seeking an exciting and innovative artist, maker or designer to create a new work for an important threshold at a key entrance into the town centre on the old Bodmin Rd. The location is also the start of one of the main ways out of the town towards the Clay Country – the villages that sit the ridge above St Austell town. In doing so the road passes Menacuddle Well and Wheal Martyn Clayworks – a museum dedicated to the culture of clay in the area. It also connects to the Clay Trails – a network of cycle and walking routes joining together Clay Country, the Eden Project and the town.

The Saskatchewan Craft Council Gallery presents solo, two-person, and group exhibitions reflecting craft history, contemporary practice, and innovation. The SCC Gallery policy prioritizes showing Saskatchewan artists and curators, but aims to include at least one touring or out-of-province exhibition each year.
For each of the six exhibitions accepted to the Saskatchewan Craft Council Gallery annual schedule, the SCC will provide installation assistance; insurance; promotion; documentation; administrative labour; and artist fees to be paid to the artist(s). To assist the SCC with the cost of the aforementioned labour and staffing, a 40% commission will be retained on any sales resulting from an exhibition.
The SCC encourages applications from self-identified members of under-served communities. We encourage submissions from Indigenous artists, artists with disabilities, new Canadians as well as people from visible and invisible minorities.
Criteria
The SCC Gallery is committed to showcasing fine craft artists; other forms of visual art may be considered in addition to an exhibition that has a primary focus on craft.
Please ensure your application is complete. Applicants who submit incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information may be deemed ineligible for consideration.

Process
The Exhibitions & Education Coordinators along with the SCC Curatorial Committee assess all applications annually. Information from each applicant is sent to members of the Curatorial Committee prior to the annual review meeting, where proposals are considered along with their support material. The Curatorial Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Exhibitions Coordinators. Applicants will be informed of the Curatorial Committee and Exhibitions Department’s decisions following the curatorial meeting in late December – mid January of each year. Additional Curatorial Committee meetings may be scheduled as decided by the Exhibitions and Education Coordinators.

call for submissions: Clay and Glass Artists
The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is currently accepting submissions from Canadian artists from all backgrounds and career levels working in clay and glass for an exhibition on the theme of Diversity and Inclusion to be presented in Fall 2021.
We are pleased to announce an open call for submissions from Canadian clay and glass artists for a group exhibition with the theme “Diversity and Inclusion.” The exhibition will coincide with the 2021 Creative City Network Summit to be hosted by the City of Waterloo. We welcome submissions from artists who broadly identify with the theme of Diversity and Inclusion in their artistic practices and experiences including, but not limited to, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, and mental or physical abilities. Multi-media works and those that incorporate new media within the use of clay, glass, and copper enamelling will be considered.
The selected works will be presented in the exhibition from September 2021 to January 2022. The Gallery will provide an artist fee (as set out by CARFAC) to the selected artists and cover the costs of shipping and insurance for the duration of the exhibition.
Located in Waterloo, Ontario, the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is Canada’s only gallery dedicated to the exhibition and collecting of contemporary Canadian clay, glass, and copper enamelling. Through exhibition programs, publications, a clay studio, and an archival centre, the Gallery supports research and creation by emerging, mid-career, and established artists. The Gallery is accessible, with the exception of exhibitions and events held in the John A. Pollock Family Courtyard, which is not fully accessible to visitors with particular mobility aids at this time.
We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometers on each side of the Grand River.
We welcome submissions from all qualified applicants and encourage submissions from groups that are typically underrepresented in institutional spaces, including racialized and Indigenous individuals, LGBTQ2S+ identifying individuals, francophone individuals, Deaf persons, and persons with disabilities. - A written statement describing the work that you propose for the exhibition as well as its significance to the theme (50-100 words). Works in-progress and concepts for works to be completed will also be considered.
- Up to 5 images of your work, including titles and dimensions of works. Provide sketches for works that have not yet been completed.
- An artist statement describing your practice, interests, and what the concept of diversity and inclusion means to you (up to 250 words).
- A CV that includes, at minimum, your education as well as any relevant exhibition, publication, and installation history.
