I’ve got to tell you guys, I’m loving this! So nice to see and share such gorgeous work with you!
Here’s today’s pics brought to you from Priscilla Mouritzen who you may know from the Pinch Pots Blog. She’s a South-African-born ceramist, living in Denmark.
The first is of 5 pinched porcelain wood-fired bowls and the second of one pinched porcelain w-f bowl. All were exhibited at Galerie Besson, London in 2008.

The Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics is a national award for ceramic artists and potters. Thanks to the ongoing partnership with Mrs. Winifred Shantz and the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery, the award is presented to a practicing early career artist who has been working professionally for between 5 to 10 years. The Award is intended to allow the artist to undertake a period of independent research or other activities with the capacity to advance their artistic and professional practice at a key moment in the artist’s career. The winner of the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics receives $10,000. The selection panel is comprised of experienced contemporary ceramic artists, potters and curators. In Monica’s words: My last batch of work has come from a book titled “the man who mistook his wife for a hat” by oliver sacks. It’s a bunch of animals with people paraphernalia.
As the snow still exists here I’m jealous of Monica living in North Florida…sigh, will i ever wear shorts again??? Please check out her blog and etsy shop for more.
