Mary grew up on a small farm and raised her two children… it wasn’t until after her kids were grown she found her passion for art. Little did Mary know it would come to define her… A life lesson to not judge a book by its cover, and to follow your dreams no matter what age.

Alex of Curiosity Inc. who made the video you have here has several more about Mary on his YouTube channel for anyone interested. He bought her house and the story began. He brought Mary to us with his stories, interviews with her, showed us her pottery and made her a part of our daily lives. I hope everyone takes the time to watch his videos and get an insight into this beautiful creative woman’s life.
This is the URL to his video uploads where you can see Mary’s life unfold and his renovation of her historic home. It’s a wonderful experience.
I never knew about Mary until I came across an article on her passing. She passed on my Birthday April 3. I too am a wood fire potter just getting started along with my husband. He too digs his own clay and savenges local materials in Upstate NY. She seems to have been an amazing woman. I sincerely hope someone purchases her renovated home and leaves intact all of the artistry that is her workshop and kiln yard. Reading the article hit very close to heart at home.
