Artscape is thrilled to announce that we are now accepting applications for tenancy for 80 live/work studios at Artscape Bayside Lofts, developed in partnership of the City of Toronto, developer Hines-Tridel, Artscape and Waterfront Toronto.
These stunning, brand new studios are located within the larger condominium development project led by Hines-Tridel, located at 30 Merchants’ Wharf between Lower Sherbourne and Parliament Streets.
All 80 affordable residential studios at Artscape Bayside Lofts are offered as Affordable Housing exclusively for artists and artist-led families, and will be operated by Artscape through a long-term agreement with thanks to an agreement with the City of Toronto.
These units are a unique opportunity for artists to make their home near Toronto’s waterfront and be part of shaping the future of this growing and emerging community. This development will be part of an emerging neighbourhood that includes: George Brown College; OCADU, Remix; HXOUSE; Toronto’s new hub for creative entrepreneurs, Artscape Daniels Launchpad; and others–all housed within the Daniels Waterfront-City of the Arts building at 130 Queens Quay East. This community will provide artists with support and opportunities to collaborate, learn and network with other creatives.
The call for Artscape Bayside Lofts tenant applications closes on April 17, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.
To be considered for tenancy, applicants must register for and attend one of the following Information Sessions offered at Artscape Daniels Launchpad, Sugar Hall A:

Butler Art Center is hosting an exhibit honoring the drinking vessel and the containers used to store all things spirited, dedicating the show to the “Art of the Drink.”
Open to all functional vessels used for the consuming, storing and pouring of beverages, the exhibit runs from November 13- 29, 2019.

artsPlace is looking for artists and makers! Join us as an art market vendor during our annual Pottery-Palooza fundraiser.
To celebrate all the amazing creatives within our community, we would like invite you to sell your work while helping us raise money for our programs! Since artsPlace’s opening in 2015 we have hosted this annual event that brings together artists, students, and the community in celebration of all things clay! This year we are expanding our market to makers from across disciplines to host a curated event that highlights talented Canadian artists and craftspeople. This two-day market will feature a special donor and sponsor VIP sale night on Friday, May 17 and run all day on Saturday, May 18 in conjunction with our public ceramics workshops and family-friendly crafts.

Selected vendors will be notified within one week of deadline

Donor & VIP night: Fri. May 17 from 5 – 9 pm
Public market day : Sat. May 18 from 10 am – 6 pm
Vendor Details:
There is a 70/30 fee split on market sales with funds raised to go towards artsPlace future programming. We ask that the artists (or their representative) be available on Friday night and Saturday to sell their work/supervise their booth. Artists may arrive and set up any time on May 17 between 9 am and 4 pm and take down on May 18 between 6 – 8 pm. Vendors are encouraged to bring their own tables or booth set up (aprox 6’x6’), artsPlace will have a limited quantity of tables and black tablecloths available. Selected vendors will be required to pay a $50 refundable deposit (kept in event of cancellation less than 1 week prior). All point of sales and wrapping will be provided by artsPlace at our front desk. Artists will receive a cheque within two weeks of the event to the mailing address specified below.

– 3 images of artwork similar to what will be sold during the event (higher quality preferred)

– Please indicate if you will require a table w/ black tablecloth

This is a great opportunity not only to sell your work and expand your network, but also to support your local arts centre in a tangible way – as all proceeds collected by artsPlace will directly support our future programming.
