Theme and Intention of the symposium:
The theme of the symposium is to make ceramic artworks by applying overglaze-underglaze paints on particular forms which will reflect the artists’ unique style and techniques. While making overglaze- underglaze paintings, subject and technique will be decided by the artists.
Intention of the symposium is to make the ceramic artists and lecturers of different cultures come together, both from Turkey and from abroad. We believe this will create an ambiance that enables communication by sharing experiences, having the opportunity to discuss techniques and ideas. We hope that artists will get to know each other better and we desire for participants to enjoy international cultural exchange.
Dates of the Event: 20 June – 01 July 2011 Deadline for submission of applications: 1st June 2011
Required Documents to Apply:
Each artist should submit;
Pre-application form filled completely
3 color photograph of the applicant’s artworks or applicant’s website address to the contact e-mail address mentioned below.
Applications will be evaluated by the commission right after the submission. Early applications are important because the number of accepted participants will be limited.
After evaluation official invitation letter will be sent to the accepted artists.

…Sous la responsabilité de la direction et de la chargée de projets, la personne accueille le public et les groupes dans le cadre des activités de la programmation en plus d’apporter un appui aux tâches administratives :
TÂCHES
Réalisation de visites commentées et d’activités éducatives, notamment pour les groupes scolaires;
Accueil des visiteurs et information au sujet du mandat et des diverses activités du centre;
Appui au développement des publics (scolaire, personnes âgées ou appartenant à divers groupes sociaux, etc.) ;
Appui au développement de stratégies visant l’accroissement et la fidélisation des visiteurs, de la clientèle (pour la salle d’exposition et la boutique) et des membres;
Promotion de l’adhésion et suivis (membres) ;
Appui à l’encadrement du comité des membres (à venir);
Appui à la gestion des affaires courantes du centre (téléphones, courriels, rédaction de lettres et autres documents, liste d’envoi, envois postaux, etc.);
Appui à la gestion des activités d’exposition et de la boutique (recherche et suivis avec les artistes, avec des professionnels et autres ressources humaines; logistique, etc.) ;
Appui au montage et au démontage de la boutique (emballage/déballage, étiquetage, étalage, etc.)
Recherche, vérification et saisie de données; classement;
Toutes autres activités liées à l’aide à la coordination jugées pertinentes par la direction.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES POUR LE POSTE
Scolarité : Formation en métiers d’art, muséologie, histoire de l’art, communications ou autre formation pertinente;
Langue : Très bonne communication orale et écrite en français ; anglais intermédiaire ;
Informatique : Connaissance de Microsoft Office ; Internet ; Access (préférablement) ou autre logiciel de base de données;
Qualités recherchées : Intérêt pour le domaine culturel et connaissance du milieu, souci de la qualité, initiative, sens de l’organisation, travail en équipe, capacité d’apprentissage rapide, entregent, fonctionne bien en situation de stress, responsable, autonome.

Conditions salariales : 10,00 $ / heure
1 poste (28hrs / semaine) ou 2 postes (18hrs la semaine, 3 jours et 1 soir, ou 10 hrs la fin de semaine)
(Horaire complet : mercredi au dimanche de 12h à 17h; le jeudi, de 12h à 20h)
Possibilité de 28 hrs /semaine pendant les expositions; heures variables pendant les démontages et montages.
Il est à noter qu’aucune exposition n’est prévue en juillet, ce qui signifie un arrêt de travail d’une durée d’un mois.
Entrée en fonction : Mi-mai 2011. Une formation est prévue au début du mois de mai.

Contemporary Artist (Public Art) The concept of miniature artworks en masse has been intriguing and fascinating art-lovers from the very beginning of Up in Smoke at the Clay Energy Conference in Gulgong, where 150 matchboxes were filled with a ceramic artwork crafted by each contributing artist. Michael Ciavarella has an ambitious long-term goal of a collection of 5000 matchbox artworks to be exhibited at the International Ceramics Conference in Finland in 2014.
