Jeff Mincham will discuss his work and life with fellow ceramicist Greg Daly on the opening day of his exhibit at Object Gallery – Ceramics. Jeff Mincham is one of Australias most prominent and influential ceramic artists with a career spanning more than 30 years. His exceptional craft skills and extraordinary body of work are being honoured at Object Gallery through the 2009 Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft series.

CLAY-HOLIDAY, the Clay Art Center’s Annual Holiday Studio Tour and Sale, featuring fine functional pottery and ceramic sculpture by 36 Clay Art Center artists takes place in Clay Art Center’s two galleries and throughout the upper and lower studio spaces, December 3 – 6, with an opening reception and holiday celebration on Thursday, December 3 from 6 – 9pm. Be among the first 101 to arrive and qualify to win a $101 CAC gift certificate. Sale hours continue on Friday from 10am – 7pm, Saturday from 10am – 4pm and Sunday from 12 – 4pm. The exhibition in the main and upstairs galleries will continue through December 19, with gallery hours Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 4pm and by appointment.

The Sitka Art Invitational exhibit and sale focusing on art and ecology opens this weekend at the World Forestry Center. There will be an opening night party with the artists friday, November 13th, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (entrance fee) and Saturday & Sunday, November 14-15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the public exhibit and sale (free admission). Proceeds go to support the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology http://www.sitkacenter.org/4-1.html.
