An international conference aimed at exploring current research and trends in wood firing will be held at Sturt Craft Centre in April 2008.
There will also be three Pre-Conference Workshops in the week leading up to the Conference.

Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute at Jingdezhen
International Residency Programs
Open to mature international artists of all levels of experience and appreciation of the ceramic medium.
Emphasis of the residency program at Sanbao is working with hands, in a setting of simple daily life, with local craftsmen, and artists from all over the world in an atmosphere of creative and cultural exchange. Sanbao seeks to provide artists with time, space and materials to create a body of work in an inspiring and rich environment.
Residency terms can be from a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks. Sanbao Ceramic Working Village will be open for residency from May 1 to November 30.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
ComPeung is seeking applications for 2008 Artist Residency Program.
Artists or arts workers who work in or with communities are encouraged to apply. Our residency program provides opportunities for local and international artists to live and work together with our team and the local community. ComPeung residencies are for a period of one to three months. Interested artists are encouraged to apply by providing ComPeung with a preliminary proposal of her/his/their art work or project. As a work-in-progress we understand that the proposed project might change in the process.
Closing date: There is no fixed deadline, but we appreciate to receive applications at least 3 months prior to the proposed residency. If you have any questions relating to the application or the residency please contact us.

Through a unique linkage, the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, and West
Virginia University have teamed to offer a comprehensive study opportunity
for the serious advanced or professional ceramic artist/potter/student.
The Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute is considered to be China’s finest ceramics art and design school.
Space is available for 15 -18 participants who want to work and study with
some of China’s most prominent teachers and ceramic artists. This is a rare
moment in time for the serious student potter to touch those historic roots
as well as connect with the inspiring energy of artisans past and present.
